Pieve di Santa Maria e Giovanni Battista
Attestata per la prima volta in un documento del 1069, tuttavia forse già esistente nell’VIII secolo, l’austera pieve sorgeva lungo l’antica via pedemontana che univa Pisa e Lucca, ed oltre alle numerose chiese suffraganee da essa dipendeva anche il vicino monastero di San Paolo. L’insolito impianto a due navate, di cui solo la maggiore absidata, è il risultato di un ampliamento, forse incompiuto, di un precedente edificio, avvenuto tra i secoli XII e XIII. Separata dalla chiesa sorge l'imponente torre campanaria, ricostruita nel 1965 dopo la distruzione operata dai tedeschi nel 1944, con caratteristiche architettoniche del tutto diverse dall'antica torre di difesa.
Da osservare con interesse: CROCIFISSO LIGNEO (quasi a grandezza naturale) - opera di artista fiorentino di fine secolo XIV; MADONNA COL BAMBINO - Copia di un dipinto su tavola appartenente alla parte centrale di un trittico del pittore senese Neruccio di Federico datata 1357.
