Torre in Via Verdi, Vicopisano - Pisa in Toscana
Oltrepassati gli archi della Torre delle Quattro Porte si accede a Via Verdi dove è possibile riconoscere un’esile torre dell’XI secolo, oggi inglobata in un terrazzamento. Il portale di accesso che in origine si trovava in posizione assai elevata sul livello del suolo è sormontato da un’architrave a timpano, tipico dell’architettura medievale pisana.
Poco oltre è situato un interessante edificio contraddistinto da due archi a pien centro scanditi da altrettanti mensoloni marcapiano monolitici. Nella parte terminale di Via Verdi si incontra sulla sinistra un arco a sesto acuto sghembo: si tratta di una casa-torre che risulta molto interrata.
