Palazzo Pretorio, Montecatini Val di Cecina - Pisa in Toscana
Il Palazzo pretorio è un edificio trecentesco, passato attraverso svariate modifiche, con una facciata abbellita dal portico con volte a crociera ed archi a tutto sesto poggianti su eleganti colonne di ordine ionico.
Sotto il porticato sono poste una lapide, a ricordo dell’ammissione del Granducato di Toscana al Regno d’Italia con riportati i risultati del plebiscito, ed un’altra indicante le vecchie unità di misura e di peso ed i loro rapporti, oltre ad uno stajo in pietra per la misura delle granaglie. Fu sede del Municipio. Nella piazza antistante è ubicata la caratteristica cisterna dal bordo quadrato in pietra poggiante su di un piano che degrada verso il basso e sullo sfondo è posta la bella porta castellana dal frontone adorno di conci bianchi e neri.
