Chiesa di San Benedetto a Settimo, Cascina - Pisa in Toscana
Attestata dall’anno 861, la chiesa fu riedificata nel 1540 nella sede attuale e data in uso ai Serviti. Ristrutturazioni ottocentesche caratterizzano gli esterni ed interni attuali.
Conserva dipinti trecenteschi su tavola con fondo oro: la “Madonna delle ciliegie” di Francesco Neri da Volterra e la “Madonna del Piano” attribuita ad artista di scuola fiorentina; una tavola del secolo XIV raffigurante i “Santi Pietro e Filippo Benizzi” attribuita a Pier Francesco Foschi e affreschi del secolo XVI ad opera del Sollazzino. Nella stessa epoca la chiesa acquistò frammenti di paliotto in alabastro di fattura inglese risalente al Trecento, policromato e dorato, raffiguranti i “Santi”, l’“Assunzione” e “Scene cristologiche”.
