Chiesa della Madonna dei Galletti - Pisa in Toscana
La chiesetta era conosciuta nel Medioevo come Chiesa di San Salvatore in Porta Aurea, oggi scomparsa. Il nome attuale risale al 1640, quando sull’altare maggiore fu collocato l’affresco della Madonna con Bambino, opera del senese Taddeo di Bartolo, proveniente dalla casa della famiglia Galletti.
L’attuale chiesa esisteva già nel secolo XIII, ma è stata rifatta nel ‘700 in stile barocco con fastoso soffitto in legno, opera del Del Norcia, mentre la facciata esterna è opera di Ignazio Pellegrini. L’interno, a una navata con una piccola cappella per ogni lato, presenta deliziosi marmi policromi e cinque tele sacre.
