Chiesa di San Domenico - Pisa in Tuscany
The church was added to a convent of Dominican Nuns; both were built and donated (1395) by Pietro Gambacorti, a noble of Pisa, to his daughter Chiara, whose bones were found near the high altar. Later the church was assigned to the Military Order of Malta. The church and the convent were half-destroyed by the bombings of the Second World War. It was closed to religious cults for a long time and reopened in 1998.
The façade is made up of Verrucana stone, with double-lancet windows on the upper part and portal provided with roofing. Unfortunately, the inner frescoes representing the Blessed Chiara were lost.
