Villa Rosselmini - Pisa in Tuscany
The villa dates back to the 18th century. Worthy of note are the marble statues on the gable of the facade with the big marble coat of arms of the Rosselmini family in the middle, marble bas-reliefs of women’s busts placed on the windows of the upper storey that can be reached by means of a two-flight staircase. On the door is the marble bust of the Emperor Claudio.
The beautiful 18th-century chapel of the Infant Virgin, in Baroque style, has a small bell-tower. The majestic interior houses stucco medallions depicting the stories of the Infant Virgin. On the high altar is the painting “Madonna col Bambino” (The Virgin Mary with the Baby) by Tempesti. The small sacristy bears a memorial inscription in honour of the founder Carlo Rosselmini (1767)
