Oratorio di San Sebastiano - Pisa in Tuscany
It was built in 1506-1507 on a pre-existing open arcade, used as a protection from rain water, where a Madonna, called “la Margine”, was painted. Like many other oratories built in Tuscany between the 15th and 16th century during plague epidemics, the small church was dedicated to St. Sebastian to avoid infection. During the 17th century it was enlarged and provided with an arcade and later it became the seat of the “Congragazione della Morte”.
