Pieve dei SS Giovanni Evangelista e Stefano - Pisa in Tuscany
The church, datable to the beginning of the 14th century, was restored many times. As for the exterior of the building, some decorated arches of fired brick and the imposing bell tower belong to the Gothic phase. The interior has a single nave, with stone altars and two chapels on the right side.
The wooden panel with lunette, datable around 1526 and representing “God the Father, the Annunciation, the Visitation and St. Joseph” by Lorenzo Larciani, the canvas by Francesco Curradi depicting the “Virgin of the Saintly Rosary and saints”, the “Resurrection” by Orazio Fidani and the “Immaculate Conception and the Ancestors” by Iacopo Vignali are of exceptional interest. Noteworthy is also the marble christening font in the baptismal chapel on the right, datable to the beginning of the 17th century.
