Villa Masi - Pisa in Tuscany
Formerly known as “Villa Bergighelli”, it incorporated the chapel of the Annunziata (1714) built on the design of the architect Felice Palma. The Roman sarcophagus under the arcade of the courtyard and the marble bas-relief of the 15th century on the façade of the chapel are of exceptional interest. The interior houses terracotta statues attributed to the “Cieco di Gambassi” and a copy of the Greek statue called “Statua dell’Arrotino” (Italian for knife-grinder’s statue) exhibited at the Galleria degli Uffizi.
