Chiesa della Madonna del Carmine - Pisa in Tuscany

Built of brickwork, it is surrounded by a portico on three sides. As two inner tombstones attest, it was completely restored in 1850 after being damaged by the terrible earthquake of 1846 that razed to the ground the area around the Valdera and the Pisan hills. The previous church dated back to the mid-17th century; the side altars of Serena stone and probably a wall painting depicting the “Virgin on the throne and saints” are all that remains of the church.
