Chiesa Oratorio di San Sebastiano - Pisa in Tuscany
It was built in 1775 on a pre-existing oratory of the 15th century which belonged to the homonymous Confraternity; it was restored in 1937 with materials coming from the Roman villa situated in the farm “La Pieve”.
The two stone spheres, the one walled-up above on the right, the other at the top of the staircase on the left, are probably cippi of Etruscan graves. The oratory presents a very rare wooden flag painted by Giovanni Maria Tacci da Piombino in 1570 that represents “the wounded Christ held up by angels”, the “Virgin and Child with St. Sebastian and St. Rocco”, today in the Museum of Sacred Art in Volterra.
