Oratorio della Madonna delle Grazie, Riparbella - Pisa in Tuscany
Built in 1542, it displays a stone façade with ridge roof; the small bell gable houses a bell with the inscription “Ave Maria gratia plena” dated 1507. Ancient and recent restoration work determined the present-day appearance of the oratory which had a porticoed façade until 1959.
The interior with a single nave keeps an ancient fresco with “Our Mother of the Thanksgiving” above the 19th-century altar. The walls are adorned with two big canvas representing “St. Anthony the Abbot” and the “Virgin ascending to Heaven” coming from the parish church. In this oratory particular festivals are celebrated, including the blessing of the olive branch on Palm Sunday and the Commemoration of the Dead.
