Chiesa di San Niccolò - Pisa in Tuscany
It is mentioned as San Niccolò a Sezzana in the catalogue of the churches of the diocese of Lucca of 1260. It underwent several alterations since it was consecrated in 1551, restored at the beginning of the 17th century and enlarged in the 19th century.
It presents a large nave with transept and three apsidal chapels. It houses interesting paintings by Florentine artists, the protagonists of the painting reform of the late 16th century: a “Circumcision” attributed to Santi di Tito, a “Virgin of the Saintly Rosary” and a “Holy family” by Agostino Ciampelli and a “St. Julian’s hospitality” of 1645by Orazio Fidani, originally painted for the altar of the “Compagnia di San Giuliano”, a building disappeared today.
