Oratorio della Madonna del Carmine, Lari - Pisa in Tuscany
The oratory stands out by the elegant proportion of its architecture and takes its name from the presence of the Carmelites and the homonymous Confraternity which settled in the church of Lari in the late 17th century.
Originally it was dedicated to St. Rocco and St. John the Baptist invoked during the plague of 1632. It is preceded by a square portico and presents a Greek cross plan and a Baroque high altar of stucco; a tabernacle of the choir keeps a “Virgin and Child” in relief. The side altars house canvas attributed to the Melani brothers, late-Baroque painters from Pisa of the 18th century.
