Villa Melani Bendinelli, Lari - Pisa in Tuscany

In the first half of the 18th century the building was the property of the Pisan painter and architect Francesco Melani, while in the following century it passed to the Mazza family, who destroyed the old church of San Nicola and built the present-day chapel dedicated to San Nicola and S. Anna.

In 1848 the villa was bought by the Bendinelli family who divided the property among its heirs, so the villa lost its original structure. Among its guests is the Tuscan humorist known with the nickname of Yorick.
